Is it a sign that I have had to re-schedule 2 times due to flight cancellations??

I am due to leave for Italy next week. Before the war began my flight home was cancelled & I had to re-schedule. Now, today, one of my legs on Alitalia was cancelled & I re-booked for the same dates, just flying out of a different NYC area airport. Part of me wonders if I should just re-book for a month from now... not that it will be any safer then- any thoughts?

I think it's less about safety, and more about canceling flights that aren't full enough to fly.

Hi Bnice
Alitalia did this to us before Sept 11th so I think it is more about the airline than the war.
This morning's new did say that all airlines are shuffling around flights because of so many people cancelling.

Hi Bnice - My flight on Alitalia from Newark to Rome was cancelled on 1/29 (with two days notice) and I went on the same evening from JFK instead. They said it was a labor problem but I think it was just not enough people on the plane to justify two flights out of the NYC area. Everything went fine after that. Have a great trip!

International service from my area has been decreased drastically. Seems it didn't matter how willing we are to fly right now, the airline doesn't want to fly us over in an otherwise empty plane.

If you can get alternate service but on the same dates, I say go for it. If the airlines go bankrupt the choices will be worse than they are now.

Is it a sign that Delta gave us $800 in Delta Dollars to stay over in Atlanta last night, as flight was overbooked? I think yes! I will have more free tickets to Europe!!! Helaine
