If you want the scoop in terms of the domestic mood of the country go to Keyword:Greece (if you have AOL) and then go to athen's news. This is an English newspaper printed daily in Greece. It gives you little synopsis of the news daily. This is where I read about the hotel bombing the day after it occurred. Web. address is: http://athensnews.dolnet.gr/

Display a good attitude and you are most likely to have a very good time anywhere in Greece, especially the islands. Yet, many people are bitter about NATO's recent involvement in the region, but politics is one thing and dealing with people is another.

You don't need to live across the road from n embassy. The consuls of four countries hear of dangers, so give good advice. This is found <BR>from Australia on http://www.dfat.gov.au/consular/advice <BR>from Britain on http://193.114.50.10/travel <BR>from Canada on http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/menu-e.asp, under "Travel Reports" <BR>from the USA on http://travel.state.gov/travel_warnings.html <BR>Some experienced American travellers find the American site over-cautious. It is therefor useful to check all four sites. <BR> <BR>Ben Haines, London <BR>
