Is getting from Frankfurt airport to Hahn (secondary) airport easy?

Just wondering about the above "ease of connection" given Ryanair has (almost) free flights right now...i'll be arriving into FRA however...so not sure if it's worth the effort...thx!

65-70 minutes from Mainz. About once an hour.

Mainz is 25 minutes from FRA by the S-bahn.

Don't forget about Ryanair's check-in cutoff times.

If you are going into Frankfurt proper, it's a lot more trouble from Hahn, but depending on your destination, Hahn might be very do-able. There are shuttle buses in all compass directions from Hahn - Trier, Cochem, Traben-Trarbach, Koblenz, Mainz, Idar-Oberstein, all of which have train stations, might be good places to head to first. Where ya goin'?

I think the OP is flying into FRA, and then want to fly out to somewhere else using Ryanair from Hahn.

Hi there, thanks so far...yes i'm arriving into FRA airport at 8am, and then i have 4 days to do something, so i'm wondering after i get my bags, clear customs, get to Hahn, and check-in...how long this will take. i'm interested if it's a waste of a day to catch the late-day/evening departures of Ryanair...

I think you may be wasting a day. Depending on where you actually want to go you might check on the price of a ticket to that destination on your original airline. I know I quite often see prices that are slmost the same to the European entry points like Frankfurt, Amsterdam, London, Copenhagen and the secondary points like Munich, Venice, or Prague. Ryan has really cheap prices but they are not the only low-cost European airlines.

Thanks! Hahn airport is now officially off my list, too much hassle given that there are some low-priced alternatives on regular carriers to attractive cities, thanks!
