We leave in 1/2 hour for the airport and trip to Paris...heard it was closed.

The museum is open but the Impressionist and post-Impressionist galleries are closed for renovation. http://www.musee-orsay.fr/en/collect.../projects.html

yes but the impressionist and post impressionistgalleries are closed for major changes. The neutral walls will be painted avocado, the Pavilli Amont will have deep mauve walls
where the over-sized 19th century painting will be hung, The Cage de l'Horoge is to be enlarged and remodeled. Meanwhile to defray the cost of the project,they have put together two travelingshows of its best impressionist and post-impressionist and offered to museums overseas. When the galleries reopen in 2011, the materpieces will have been to venues in Australia,Japan and the USA.
