I keep going in-and-out of this post reading all the responses.

There are so many opinions, and if you can just take sometime to figure out what Capri is all about, perhaps you will find the answer by yourself.

I've stayed on the Isle of Capri on two different trips. Both times for two nights.

I've visited Ischia Ponte where I stayed for four nights this past May.

These two islands are different from each other...I knew that when planning my trips. I will say that for myself and my husband, we will probably never visit Ischia again. It was what it was, and we had a wonderful four days.

We would, however, visit Capri for a third time.

In many trips to Italy the "Isle of Debris" was singularily the most disapointing iconic visitation place of all. Over touristed, over hyped, over charged and over the water.
On the trip back a consensus of fellow travellers all heading back to the sedate climes of Praiano felt an enormous collective letdown.
