Is asking for to-go boxes frowned upon?

Patrick, actually its the LW that eats most of the pasta. I really chow down on the the bacon/potato soup and the bread sticks.
You do have to be careful there as much of the pasta seems dried out or made of card board and the sauce seems too bland!

I have to say I have never eaten in an Olive Garden as they just started catching on when I left NJ. I did eat at the Macaroni Grill once a few years back and thought it was pretty good. Where does that one fall in the pecking order of "chain" restaurants? I used to love all the TGI's etc in my 20's but I seem to have gone off them these days. I prefer a slab of bread and really fresh stinky cheese and a glass of red .

Well, not to sabotage this post, but I have a followup question? What about sharing a meal? My husband and I frequently do that in the U.S., just because we're not really hungry enough for 2 meals? Is that acceptable in Europe?

Patrick, my little wife was my little woman until her big daddy showed up one night with a preacher and a shotgun. Of course, she is lovely and loving so maybe it should be LLW? Did that clear things up?

samsaf- depending on the kind of restaurant often there are various courses and/or menu items are ordered separately. so short of actually sharing one plate of food, you could each order a few smaller choices.
