Is anyone familiar with a tour/travel route to see Stonehenge and Bath in a daytrip from London?
I was wondering if there's a way to do a quick stop at Stonehenge and continue to Bath for a daytrip from London. Is there a train/coach line that could allow for both in one day?

I too am interested in this question as I am planning a trip for next June. Evan Evans has a tour of both but it is sort of expensive and since there are 5 of us I would love to find something less expensive but would love to see both in one day. Thanks for any help.

A few years ago, we rented a car and drove from where we were staying (near Hyde Park) and drove out to Stonehenge and Bath for the day. This was during the summer months. We left early and arrived mid morning at Stonehenge, took our time there and ate lunch in the car on the way to Bath (about an hour). Spent the afternoon touring the town. A trip under ground to the Baths is a must....Drove back to London early evening and had a late supper somewhere in Soho...a great day! It is do-able if you have a car and are comfortable driving on the "wrong" side of the road, and are a bit of a hardcore traveller/sightseer...always on the go (as I am). I'm sure you could get to Bath by train but there are no train stations out at Stonehenge.

Stray Travel (www.straytravel.com) offers a day trip that includes Bath, Oxford and Stonehenge and costs $38 USD. We're taking the longer All-Britain tour next week - I've been in contact via e-mail with Natalie at Stray and they sound very nice and competent. Stray Travel is also mentioned in the official mag from the British Tourist Authority, but I'll let you know how everything was when I get back. Check out the website, though, it's pretty helpful.

Quite a few tour bus companies offer a day trip from London to Bath via Oxford & Stonehenge. We booked ours after we got to London through our hotel concierge, more for convenience to our hotel than anything. The price was about $40 or $50 US. and included an authentic (gak!) English meal. But the tour itself was lovely!

Three years ago we did the Evans Evans tour of Salisbury, Stonehenge and Bath. We were really interested in Bath and Stonehenge, but found Salisbury to be an unexpected treat. The tour was a little too rushed for us. Bath was the last stop on the itinerary and that was place we wanted to spend the most time (only got 2 hours). On our next trip to London, we took the train and spent the day in Bath to hit the stes we missed the first time. If you can find a tour that is Bath and Stonehenge only go for it. Otherwise you will only get a taste of each location.

There is a great, inexpensive tour for Bath and Stonehenge!

The Original London Walking Tours offers daytrips from London, but not to Bath and Stonehenge on the same day (they do offer Bath on its own or Stonhenge and Salisbury). Here is their website: http://london.walks.com/explorer.html#add_exp_days
I took the Big Bus Tour last September when in London, and I am pretty sure they offered a bus tour to Bath and Stonehenge, but I didn't see it listed on their web site.

Hello Lora,
Besides EvanEvans try:
www.grayline.com (Frames Rickards)
www.goldentours.co.uk
www.visitorsightseeing.co.uk
Some - if not all - offer this tour.
It's expensive, - but I think you'll find the price includes admission to the Roman Baths and to Stonehenge.
However, as a day-trip this really involves a lot of time spent on the coach, and not enough time in Bath.
Perhaps I'm biased as I live here, but I would second the suggestion to stay at least one night in Bath. There are a number of places to visit within reach of Bath, - and the Cotswolds are nearby. I'd be happy to give you some suggestions if you like...

If you can, stay for a night or 2 in Bath. it is well worth it.
we stayed at the Villa Magdala , and truly enjoyed it.
The train is the best way to get from London to Bath, you might want to check out a day trip to Stonehenge from there, I know they do them....
Also - check out the book - BRITAIN BY BRITRAIL - it should give you some good ideas on whether you can use the train for both, and if it is a good idea or not.
