Is Anyone Else Having A Problem Posting?

Hi, I keep trying to post an answer for Sasha who will be in Florence with her mother and flying home from Venice.

I have tried for the last 20 minutes and cannot post my answer to her.

Is anyone else having problems.

It will be interesting to see if I can post this thread won't it? Oh sigh!

I tried earlier in the day -- big discussion on night trains, all for nought! My reply went nowhere.

LoveItaly Nov 27th, 2004 03:06 PM

Surefire, that is interesting because I am ready to pull my hair out. I have had not had problems except with the thread "How Early Do I Have To Get Up To Do This" by sashia who will be in Florence with her 78 yr. old mother and needs to fly home from Venice on a noon flight.

Even my "test" post posted on her thread. But everytime I give her the info she wants regarding Pavoda etc. I cannot post!!!!

Too confusing. Thanks for your answer, and am sorry you are having problems too.

Your test post came through, as did mine.

don't know what the problemis but seems everyone has had problems like you - myself several times recently. One thing i found, which may have been coincidence, after trying to post a long post which i couldn't several times, i cut it in two and was able to post each part successfully - so maybe length has something to do with it sometimes. But normally length has nothing to do with it, but in this case it did.

LoveItaly Nov 27th, 2004 03:42 PM

OK PalQ, even though my post was not that long I will in a bit try one more time, maybe 3 sentences at a time? :-!

I feel really frustrated because I feel I have some info she could use, in fact she posted asking me where was my info.

Well I will say a pray to the cyberspace gremlins that next post will work. Thanks for your replies.

Try splitting your message into two or three posts and see whether that works. I've have problems posting longish posts. They're not overly long, just longer than short.

Yes, I have had problems posting. It's getting better now.

Thanks everyone. I was hoping those "problems" we had for a few weeks were done with but guess not.

I am having trouble finding information...for instance when I do a search on 'Paris Restaurants' I get about 5 postings. I KNOW there is a lot more out there about restaurants in Paris. What am I doing wrong?

sandypaws3 Nov 27th, 2004 07:14 PM

Yes, I've been having posting problems for the last week or so, though the last couple of messages posted okay.

1jan1, you are not doing anything wrong, believe me. Another glitch with Fodors today.

Guess we will all have to "keep trying" to find information or post information.

At least we can communicate(more or less) with each other which is more than we could do those several days when the site was a real problem.

Cin, cin, LoveItaly

i was trying to post a reply to someone who asked about good shoes for walking in europe, and i still can't tell if the reply got posted or not.. the thread seems to be locked, because it seems that i can reply to this one, but not that one. the whole system has been pretty strange, but i hope they'll fix it soon

sheila Nov 28th, 2004 03:38 AM

I have just posted an answer elsewhere and it showed up on this, the right hand side of the screen, but the original psting is still, three "refreshes" later showing as "0 replies".

Are they building in delay now?

kswl Nov 28th, 2004 04:04 AM

maybe. I posted a message to my trip report and it did not appear. I tried posting it again, and this time it showed up. A few minutes later, there were two identical posts, so I assumed there was a delay.

I've been trying to post a topic all morning, I just want to see if I can even reply to a thread. So this is a test. Regards, Walter

I was unable to transmit on the forum all last week, but came back on line today.

This post didn't work. I will try again later.

Sue4 Nov 28th, 2004 05:03 PM

Yes! Spent about 2 hours this afternoon trying to post a new thread for Dordogne info I need - to no avail. Maybe it was too long. Hope this work!
