Is Antalya Worth a Night or Two

Our extended family of all ages is planning a trip for late June/early July next year. We prefer not to go with organized tours but do our own thing. Our current itinerary includes flying from Cappadocia to Antalya and embarking on a gulet cruise from there. We had allocated 2 nights there so we could see Perge, Aspendos, Myra and Antalya. Some in our group are wondering if this is the best use for our 2 nights in the area. What do you suggest? Thanks to all!

Hi first of all will you be renting a car while in Antalya?? The reason I ask this is becuase the sights you wishs to see are best accessed by car but you can get tours out of Antalya to visit places like Perge and Aspendos.

Myra is approximately located more than 3 hours away from Antalya making it for a long day. But if you go to Cirali after visiting Antalya only 1 - 1.5 hours from this spot.

Cirali is a great spot and a hidden treasure. Great to get away from the crowds and the touristic area. Also home of the anceint city of Olympos if you are into ruins and the flames of the Chimeara. Cirali itself will take up at leasr to days visit.

Lots to see and do in Antalya like the old city harbor, museum, waterfalls etc.

Were will your gulet cruise take you to?? and for how many days. Most likely you will be travelling southwest along the Lycian coastline.

Look to the Tukey Travel Planner for more ideas. There is so much to see and do in and around the surrounding area of Antalya. You did not metion Termessos another great place to visit close to Antalya. One could spend more than 2 week just in the Antalya area alone.
