Is a visit to Villa D'Este worthwhile?

We only have a day and a half in Rome and I'm wondering if anyone out there has been to these gardens and found the drive there worthwhile. I think I'd still have a day to see Rome.

If you had more time in Rome, I would say that Villa D'Este would be worth it. With only 1 1/2 days in Rome, you'll only be able to scratch the surface, so I would just stick to Rome.
Regards
Art
I agree with Art. On the other hand, there are several companies offering guided half day tours to d'Este, including Hadrian's Villa. Really worthwhile, especially the Hadrian guiding.
Bjorn, Oslo

It is so worth visiting. I was there last July. However, I don't think you have enough time. It is absolutely gorgous

Both Villa d'Este and Hadrian's VIlla are quite worthwhile. However I rank them both under most of the top 20 sights in Rome. When you've seen them, then go on out to Tivoli.

Saint Peter's
Roman Forum
Sistine Chapel & Vatican Museums Palatine Hill
Capitoline Hill
Castel S.
