Is 4 days worth it?

My husband and I have some vacation time in late April and wanted to go to Ireland. We will only have 4 days to spend in Dublin. Seeing that the travel time from the U.S. to Ireland is substantial, is it worth going if we only have four full days?

I don't think it's unreasonable. If that's the only time you can go and you're willing, go for it!

I say go for it if you're traveling from the East Coast and are experienced travelers so you know how you'll react to jet lag. I went from the West Coast to London for 5 days once, was kind of out of it, but still had a blast.

Oh, I'd say it's worth it if that is four full days, not including your travel days. I've gone to the Caribbean for that time and it takes just as long (at least where I went, it did) to fly there from where I live, although there was only a one hour time change. I think that's the biggest issue, so it depends on how time changes affect you.

Oh yes, go!! Ireland is wonderful, what a fantastic place. You will enjoy it very much.

IMHO, no. It is too short of a time to spend for so many hours spent flying, the fact that you lose almost the better part of a day in the time change and the fact that you will most likely be somewhat jetlagged. However, I see that I am in the minority here.

Most definitely go, as others have stated, as long as this does not include your travel days. There is lots to see and do in Dublin and within close proximity. I have been fortunate enough to travel, or meet up with my husband, who was on business, for 4 to 5 day trips in such places as Paris, Dublin, Hong Kong, Tokyo. There is not much better than to travel, see different lands, enjoy new cultures....<BR>ENJOY!

Depends on what your definition of "is" is.

Go for it, Carol! A former girlfriend & I flew all the way from Seattle to Paris for only four days over Thanksgiving weekend in 1994 (due to a great companion fare deal), and had a fantastic time.
