Have any of you visited the Ironwood Bridge Museums in England?

We were there two years ago in September. We wanted to see the "Cradle of the Industrial Revolution" and we stayed overnight in a B&B. We walked on the world's first bridge made out of iron, which ws completed in 1779. We found the Museum of the Gorge a disappointment but from there we took the shuttle to Blists Hill Victorian Town, an open air museum, which was quite fun.

Yes I spent a wonderful, simply wonderful day there a few years back - so so much to see and do - you can hop buses that go around the several-mile route or walk on nice footpaths - we took a bus and walked too.

there are several separate parts - the main museum yeh was not the highlight to me either but just the whole thing in general where iron I believe was first made on an industrial scale - a great day out. We stayed in Shrewsbury, a really sweet old town, and took a bus over and back - by train get off at Telford I believe and take a bus.

We went to Ironbridge and had a great time at Blists Hill Victorian town also. I don't recall seeing a museum, though.

there are at least three major museums but not at the Victorian town - the Iron Bridge Gorge park is vast - you need a full day to see the various sites and museums - buses circulate regularly and I think they sell some ticket valid at the several major sites.

this tells about the 10 separate museums spread across the site - well museums and attractions - I loved the Tar Tunnen - a long tunnel thru which tar once flowed - you can walk back into it and also I enjoyed the long steep inclined railway nearby that lifted stuff from river to top of hill or vice verse.

I went on one of those boring school day trips there many many years ago and loved it, so it must have been good!
