Please find that thread and resurrect it. This is all about the situation in that great city Barcelona. Which is over touristed and some locals prefer you do not visit.

Your wish is your command and agree on interest to anyone planning a visit to Barcelona.

RibeiraSacra I do not know which thread you would li like to see. I am asking simple question here: which areas on Spanish mainland would you recommend for someone looking to veer off the beaten torist path? Since you live in Spain, would you be kind enough to share favorite less touristed areas,?

I agree with Cowboy - the Terres de l"Ebre area is really nice. The beaches are gorgeous. There is a fantastic parador in Tortosa. The Terra Alta wine region, close by, has good wines, especially Grenache Blanc.

They make a delicious rice liqueur in the Ebro delta. Here is another website to check out - The Ebro Delta. Tourist Information

Another area that is a bit off the track - the area around Moncayo national park in Aragon. And if you have not been to Zaragoza it could be added on - though not exactly off the beaten track, it is not as full of tourists as some other Spanish cities.

Thanks so much for that, RialtoGirl! I've not been to Zaragoza. We don't travel in summer, but would you both still recommend Terres de l'Ebre? I'd not even heard of t his area before! Have to get out a map and plot a plan for the future. Maybe I should start a new thread on "undiscovered" Spain.

Cool idea for a thread! Do it!

i was in the Terres de L’Ebre in late September and the weather was great. Beaches were fairly deserted at that point, which only added to the allure.

I think you would love Zaragoza... a lot of great food there for sure. If you like fiestas the Fiesta del Pilar is fantastic. Start that thread!

Ok! Will start the new thread today!!
