Ironbridge

A little off the normal trek for most tourists but a worthy day or two if you are in the area. We did a day trip yesterday when the weather was gorgeous. We'll need to return another day to see the rest.

Photos, commentary and a little history (hopefully):

Thanks! My visit to Ironbridge Gorge and environs in the National Park remains one of my top travel memories in Britain!

We really enjoyed out day at Ironbridge Gorge. We especially liked the Bliss Hill Victorian village.

After our day at Ironbridge, we had dinner at a nearby pub. We talked to a British couple, with the husband and my sister enthusiastically discussing their visits to the World Trade Center. The date was Sept. 9, 2001. Two days later we were in York when we heard about the attack on the WTC.

Thanks for sharing your family outing! I loved the pictures. they make me very grateful to live in the 21st century with all of our conveniences. (Spoiled rotten I am!)

We loved Ironbrige, esp Bliss Hill Victorian village.
We had a very nice day too.
We took a few tours there.
I agree it was hard to find. We stayed in Ludlow and it was about 30 miles away, down some very crooked roads...;-)

Well, we made it back for a second visit before our pass expired. Really enjoyed the Enginuity (Science) Museum as well as some of the others. There's definitely a weekend's worth of activity here.

Great photos Indy, we spent a weekend at the Small Woods Association making green oak buildings and quaker boxes. A friendly little charity just next to Engenuity.

Thank you, indy_dad, for sharing your great pics and posts! Such a beautiful bridge, and that Victorian village is right up my alley.
