In October of 2004 Gus O'Connor's was still called Gus O'Connor's. When we were there it seemed that there were 3 main "local" musicians, who were joined by other Europeans including a Frenchman on the violin and a German on the Bodhran. The "locals" would discuss the next tune amongst themselves, and the others would join in if they knew the song.

I believe that the Galway Pub was Tig Coili. When we were there the music ended pretty early on a Friday night, and it was very crowded. In Irish, the pub is name is pronounced "Chee Co-Lee".

Steeleyes--The Gus O'Connor update was lovely, but we are even more grateful for the pronunciation guide!
