Irish knit sweaters

Where can I buy Irish knit sweaters in London?

Kevin Apr 4th, 2002 08:33 AM

Do you mean Aran sweaters?

Nay Apr 4th, 2002 09:07 AM

I'm not sure what Aran sweaters are. I was asking about where to buy traditional wool Irish knit sweaters.

Aran Sweaters are Irish knit sweaters ! Have no idea where to purchase in London.

There's an Irish store just off Piccadilly, but I can't think exactly where--look it up in the phonebook when you arrive. It's really called "The Irish Store." Also, the Scotch Stores sell Aran sweaters. There are a few, but one I recall is near Harrod's in Knightsbridge on Brompton Road.

Is there seriously a store called the "Scotch Store" in London? My Scottish sister-in-law gets really peeved when people refer to her or anything else from Scotland (aside from alcohol) as "Scotch". She's a Scot!

It's actually called The Scotch House, and there's an Irish Shop in King St, Covent Garden. I notice the whisky distillers aren't too proud to call themselves the Scotch Whisky Association....
