Irish Hair Dryer - Italian Trip
 

Hi,

I have an Irish hair dryer that I want to take to Italy. Anyone have any idea where I could find a plug adaptor so I can do this?

Plug your hair dryer into the PB-26, then plug the PB-26 into the GS-12. Plug the GS-12 into the wall socket. They are all grounded plugs. ((b))

I would recommend seeing if your hotel provides a hair dryer. I had what I thought were all the proper converters, etc but I was wrong! And my hair dryer was a casualty. And all my hotels had hair dryers, so I didn't even need to lug it with me in the first place.

The problem is, Ninkette-that many, maybe even most, hotels WILL have a hair dryer-the vacuum cleaner-looking-type stuck to the wall, that couldn't dry your hair to save your life! (well, maybe if you have 3 or 4 hours to spare...)

Best to either buy one, or get the proper converter and bring your own.

Oops, after rereading my last post, it should read "Plug your hair dryer into the PB-26, then plug the PG-26 into the GS-20." Sorry about that.

Thanks, Ninkette. I am definitely going to check on that. We are renting apartments, so I'm not so sure they will have them. Once we actually get all our apartments confirmed (if we EVER do!), I will ask them.

I like the way you hve assigned a nationality to your hair dryer. :-)) I always call mine the "European" hairdryer. But now I will start calling it my Northern Irish hair dryer.

On a serious note, my hair dryer has 3 prongs, but I bought a plug adapter in Europe and I have been able to use the same hair dryer all over Europe.

P_M, Thanks for the reply. I actually think of my hair dryer as my "Kilrush" hair dryer, since that is where I bought it! :)

Where did you get your plug adaptor? I am going to take Budman's advice and order from the web unless you can tell me a "real" store where I can buy one.

I think I got it at the airport in London. By any chance, does your flight involve a layover in London? Otherwise it might be best to order it off the web. Any travel store in this country would probably just convert from an American plug to the European plug, rather than the British 3-prong to the Italian type.

P_M, No layover in London. I am going to order the adaptor from the web as Budman suggests.
