If you're looking for special places to stay there's "Irelands Blue Book" listings which contains country homes style places which are specially picked for the charm of their surroundings, hosts, intimate atmosphere and cuisine. Entry into this guide is quite coveted - you can be sure anywhere mentioned is very special. Covers all of Ireland - probably no more than 25 entries or so - price varies from reasonable to expensive. Good Luck!

We stayed in the Glanworth Inn the first week of June. It's totally delightful, comfortable accommodations, excellent dinner and breakfast, located on a stream in a town that boasts not one or two but THREE ruined churches. A bit hard to find, but well worth the journey.
I also recomment heartily the Waterside Inn in Graigunamanagh, between Carlow and New Ross.

If you can get in... Greenmount House is outstanding. The food is the best you will find in all of Ireland. If you get shut out try Stella Doyle's new B&B at 55. Former owner of Doyle's Seafood and Guest House. You will not be disappointed!

We just returned from Greenmount in Dingle. *Sigh* It was the nicest place we were in! The breakfast was incredible, as well as the view! A wonderful, wonderful place!
