Hello Wishin': I loved "The Most Fertile Man in Ireland" a charming comic farce, It portrayed the Troubles in a comic light plus...contemporary Irish front parlours and bedrooms. I loved the uphostery fabrics and wallpapers!!Also
"My Left Foot"
"The Secret of Roan Inish"

"An Everlasting Piece" is a wonderful comedy with a very serious message filmed in Northern Ireland.

Dear wishin-
I empathize with you-
BBC America will be showing Father Ted reruns starting May 31. You can also buy the Father Ted videos or DVD's on Amazon. I recommend the DVD's b/c there are more episodes including my favorites- "Cigarettes, Alcohol and Rollerblading" and "Kicking Bishop Brennan up the Arse." Ballykissangel videos are also available on bbcamerica.com website I believe.
Enjoy!
Katie

One that hasn't been mentioned yet is Widow's Peak with Mia Farrow and Joan Ploughwright. Very entertaining.

I have to give a big agreement to the movies:

The Commitments
The Van
The Snapper

and finally,

The Matchmaker
Am I crazy, or did Shamrock really take the time to tell us all that "The War of the Buttons" is actually "War of the Buttons"? I'm speechless.

But I'll overcome it. Katie, my favorite Ted episodes is the "All-Priest Over-75 Five-a-Side Football Tournament" and the one where a bunch of priests get trapped in "Ireland's Largest Lingerie Section" and want Ted to help lead them out.

Two more to add: "Titanic Town". And the following is more of a series, and unfortunately the lead actors have a severe problem with the Northern Ireland accent, but it's still funny. "Eureka Street"

The Nephew with Pierce Brosnan was pretty good. I believe it was filmed in Galway.
