Ireland visit - drive from Doolin to Dingle

My daughter and I are traveling to Ireland in 10 days. I have been researching this trip for weeks and still need some help. Is it possible to drive from Doolin to Dingle in one day? Where is the best place to stay near Dublin airport, Swords, Howth, so that we can get to the airport easily in the morning for our flight home?

Yes. It's about 4 1/2 to 5 hours.

Here's a good link to judge routes/times: http://www.aaroadwatch.ie/routes/route.asp ((b))

My husband and I did this drive just over a week ago. It took around 5 hours with some short sightseeing stops along the way.

Don't know about Dublin, but I'll second the Doolin-Dingle drive. I just drove from Dingle to Ennis last week - it's a long driving day (especially if you get turned around in Tralee like we did!), but definitely doable. Take the Killimer-Tarbert ferry rather than going through Limerick - €15 definitely worth it!

It's doable. Every route will take much longer than it looks on the map, but that's when you see much beautiful countryside!
