Ireland travelers you advice is needed, please!
 

Is it plausible to catch an early plane from London to Dublin, spend the day seeing the sites in Dublin and catching an overnite train to Galway. When I say is it plausible I don't mean travel schedules I am referring to site seeing. I'll be traveling with 11 year old son so just don't know if that's too much traveling in one day. We only have 5 days in Ireland and the last nite I would like to stay close to Shannon airport. Any suggestions on an affordable place to stay? Thanks in advance for your ideas and suggestions.

There aren't overnite trains in Ireland. You will have to check when the last train/bus leaves dublin for Galway - probably around 8 pm.

The first flight from London to Dublin gets in before 8 am - so yes - it is doable.

..in an answer..no. I was there for 3 months with a 5 year old and we never ran out of things to do on weekends.

I am doing research to plan a trip to Ireland with my husband next year. When is the best time of year to go there? We don't want a cold/rainy season. What the ideal length of duration for trip? Is 7-10 days adequate? I thought we would fly into Dublin and journey the country from there. Is that the ideal way to go? We are hard of hearing; does anyone know of tour group type of trips that would be catered to hard of hearing travelers? Thanks in advance for your ideas and suggestions for first time travelers to Ireland.
