Look up www.viamichelin com for their figures. If you are leaving Dublin try to get out of the city by 7.30 am to miss the heavy traffic.I would expect to go Dublin-Killarney in 5 hours,Dublin-Dingle in 6 hours,Dublin-Galway in 3.5 hours,Killarney-Galway in 4 hours.Galway-Shannon in two hours.

Dublin to Killarney - 4 1/2 hours
Dublin to Dingletown - 5 1/4 hours
Dublin to Galway - 3 hours
Killarney to Galway - 3 1/4 hours
Galway to Shannon Airport - 1 1/4 hours

But it's SO hard to drive anywhere over there with no stops!

another good choice for a route planner is www.theaa.com and go to route planner.

I always take their # of miles and then divide by 35, to get a more realistic # of Hours.

They also let you put in stops along the way.

We just returned last night from 11 days of touring in Ireland. Driving is slow as roads are narrow and are generally one lane in each direction. Driving distances consistenly took longer than we expected. Getting to and from Dingle is slow,

The idea is to take your time, enjoy the scenery, and make frequent pub stops for a pint. Can't wait to get back. ((b))
