Ireland Tour - Itinerary opinions, help

Jump to last reply

My husband and I are honeymooning in Ireland in a couple of weeks. We like history type locations and beautiful places and scenery. We are renting a car to leave and return to Dublin. We made our arrangements (hotels, flights, car rental) through Costco Travel so we can't change those. I would love opinions on tours to do. We like to hit a place like Dublin and take a hop on/off tour and just ride around before we decide to hop off at places. Do those type of tours exist in Dublin? Galway? He has modest wants of what to see and that is the Guinness tour. Neither of us has been to Ireland and it is on his list of places to go. I'm excited to go but I don't have any specific things I want to see and do and I am just not as familiar with it. So, here is our itinerary. I would love suggestions of places to see and things to do especially restaurants. I'm not a drinker and hubby will have a beer now and again (I think he will have more in Ireland!) Also, will our car charger work in our rental? We are using our cell phones for our GPS and want to make sure they stay charged while we drive around! I have a converter for the outlets at the hotel. I am really worried about not having enough juice for our electronics!!

Thank you so much!

Day 1: Fly into Dublin - 2 nights at the Westin Dublin - no car.
Day 3: Car Rental - Drive to Killarney - 2 nights at Killarney Plaza Hotel and Spa
Day 5: Drive to Galway - 2 nights at The G Hotel
Day 7: Drive to Cong, Co Mayo - 2 nights at The Lodge at Ashford Castle
Day 9: Return to Dublin and return rental car - last 2 nights at the Westin Dublin
