Ireland: Suggestions for nightlife and music.

Going to Ireland in late May and would like recommendations on the best pubs with the best Irish music, from Dublin to Kerry to Donegal and places in between. Thanks. KO

Pubs! Pubs! All are great, and you can't go wrong in any of them. In fact you should visit a few, Pub hopping if you will. People are friendly, food is good, music is lively. My only complaint is the dense cigarette smoke. Have a great time.

Doolin, near Burren area, is world renowned for its annual musical festival and varied pubs.

I'll second the Doolin suggestion. Terrific music!

Live traditional music in Ireland is plentiful. Most pubs will advertise their "trad" nights which are usually from 9pm - 11pm daily. Galway is a great place for experiencing the Irish culture, including music and the language.

I would also recommend Matt Molloy's Pub in Westport, Co. Mayo. Have fun!
