Ireland Ring of Kerry - traffic in June?
My husband & I have a week in Ireland. We plan to stay in Doolin for several nights and daytrip in the area and north. We though we should drive the Ring of Kerry. I'm worried it will be crowded with traffic. Also, I wonder if we should stay in Killarney or somewhere near by for a couple of nights in order to day trip to Cork, Dingle, and the ROK. (NOT ALL IN ONE DAY!) So, in June, do you think it would be wise to try the ROK and Killarney? I want to try and make to the Skelig Island too, but I heard the weather makes that ify. Any advice? Thanks!

Thanks! My husband I and were in Scotland 10 yrs ago and he drove. We didn't even wreck in a round-about. I guess if it gets frustrating, we can always head elsewhere. Now where to stay...

Certainly, no problems in general. Do watch for things around bends, fo course.
However, do some research first. DO make sure it's not the same weekend as a huge bike race for charity with 1000s of bikers going along the ring, like we had! If you do find it's on the same day you're traveling, make sure you go in the OPPOSITE direction as the bikers (they go around counter-clockwise). Otherwise, you will spend the whole ring going around them one by one, on windy, twisty roads, praying someone isn't coming around the bend as you pass the bikes riding three abreast. Ugh.
