Ireland pubs
For London, fancyapint.com is a fantastic site for finding pubs that cater to your personal preferences. Anybody know of a comparable site for Dublin and/or Ireland?
|
No website like that to my knowledge but if you give me some of your preferences I can reccommend pubs in and outside Dublin. After 10 years here I have been to most of the puns I pass even if it is only once!
What do you like? for example Old pubs, Musical Pubs, Your superpubs/disco bars, historical etc. |
We would like to hit a few "really old" and "historic" type pubs that we will be able to mingle with some local Dubliners and possibly take in some Irish music. Besides that we are looking for pubs that are frequented by 25 to 30 somethings, travellers and locals, the type of pub doesn't necessarily matter as we hope the crowd will make the experience. Also, if you could suggest which pubs are the ones to hit on Sunday's that would be great.
Thanks SiobhanP! |

Just found this site which is about as close to fancyapint.com as I have seen. It gives pretty good background on pubs throughout Ireland so I thought I would share it.

Even better! Ok here are my Duboin Picks from the website:
These are in Central Dublin as some listed are in the suburbs and too far out. These are in addition to the places above: Stags head. Its a classic and has a huge snug in the back. Very old pub and good atmosphere Mulligans Brazen Head - Has music on the weekends The Duke - Literary pub crawl starts here as well. The international bar McDaids which is off grafron street and across from this is Bruxelles Bar that has a nice outsoor area and a very mixed crowd. At the weekend it will be bikers and tourists and a few locals. Enjoy! |
