excuse the ignorance of the question, but can someone tell me the conversion of sizes on the hand knit sweaters to u. s. sizes. i'd appreciate it. my daughter is going to ireland next week and i'd certainly like a sweater, but dont know the size to tell her to get.

Ro <BR> <BR>Re sizes: I would give her your US size and ask her to tell this to the shop assistant (making clear it is the US size). There are a lot of Americans shopping in Ireland, and I would expect that the shop assistants would be able to convert. But for the UK ( and maybe for Ireland) - I think US sizes are about 4 sizes lower than British sizes ie a size 8 in the US is 12 in the UK.

When I lived in the UK, the sizes were 2 above my own--I was a US 10, and so would buy UK 12.
