Ireland Itinerary Help

Jump to last reply

I am traveling to Ireland May 28 to June 4 with my husband and two adult children (ages 22 and 20). I was hoping to get some feedback from all of you on our itinerary and find out if this is actually doable and get any other suggestions, comments, or changes from you.

Day 1. Arrive in Dublin at 9:30am. Dump luggage at hotel if possible. Visit Dublin Castle; Christ Church Cathedral; Temple Bar; Guinness Store; Kilmainham Gaol; St. Patrick’s Cathedral. (These are just places that interest us. I'm sure we can't see all of this in one day. We are back in Dublin on day 7 and can maybe add what we miss to that day.)

Day 2. Rent car and leave Dublin early for Kilkenny. Visit Glendalough on the way. Check out Jerpoint Abbey; Kilkenny Castle; and town of Kilkenny.

Day 3. Leave Kilkenny for Killarney. Visit Rock of Cashel and Cahir Castle on the way. Do Muckross House; Torc Waterfall (or should this be next day?).

Day 4. Night 2 in Killarney. Gap of Dunloe; Slea Head/Dingle Peninsula drive; OR just Ring of Kerry. Check out town of Killarney.

Day 5. Leave Killarney early for Galway. Visit Cliffs of Moher on the way. Check out Galway for rest of the day. (Should we add Bunratty Castle on way to Cliffs?)

Day 6. Night 2 in Galway. Visit The Burren and Poulnabrone Dolmen. Check out more of Galway.

Day 7. Leave Galway early for Dublin. Visit Newgrange and Trim Castle (hoping we can get in for a tour. Would we be able to buy a tour pass for this day when we are there on our first day?)Return car in Dublin. Visit places in Dublin we weren’t able to see on first day.

Day 8. Flight to L.A. - 9:50am.

Thanks so much. I look forward to all your comments.

Thank you.
