Ireland in November
 

Hello! I am planning to go to Ireland in November for a week. I'm expecting obviously weather on the cooler and rainy-er side, but that doesn't bother us. Here is our current itinerary, if anyone has any other ideas on must-see or must-do things, especially in Dublin, Galway, or Killarney, I'd love the input!

Day 1 - arrive in Dublin. Temple Bar District at night
Day 2 - walking tour, Temple Bar again......any other ideas?
Day 3 - drive to Galway. Quay Street, Latin Quarter, Churches/Cathedrals. Any other ideas?
Day 4 - Galway. Quay Street, Latin Quarter, Churches/Cathedrals
Day 5 - Killarney - Ring of Kerry/Gap of Dunloe/Skellig Islands. Any other ideas?
Day 6 - Killarney - Ring of Kerry/Gap of Dunloe/Skellig Islands
Day 7 - Ennis - Cliffs of Moher, Ennis Traditional Music Fest
Day 8- departure

Dublin: Book of Kells (yes, it's worth 11€), National Museum of Decorative Arts, National Gallery, Christ Church

Galway is a compact city. I think that rambling around on Day 3 will give you most of what Galway has to offer. I suggest that you use Day 4 for a tour of Connemara.

Collin's Barracks is a great museum and free.
Check for whats on in Dublin at night, you might catch a concert or play.
Graton St, St Stephen's Green is beautiful, I always go to Merrion Square and see Oscar Wilde. His home is directly across the street from his statue. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merrion_Square

Smithfield, Guinness, music and good places to eat.
The literary pub tour at night meets at the Duke and is good.

@fra_diavolo Interested in knowing your experience with the Rebellion Tour vs. traditional Dublin walking tours There seems to be a lot of companies offering walking tours and bus tours. Reviews online all seem decent, so hard to pick. Also, would it be much repetition if one also visits Kilmainham Jail?

This was the only tour we took so I cannot compare it to the others. We had a college student for a guide, with what seemed an inexhaustible knowledge of the Uprising. He would lead us to a particular site, then deliver what amounted to a mini lecture on the events that took place there and in the immediate vicinity. My wife and I found it fascinating.

Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short due to a family emergency and were unable to visit the Kilmainham Jail.

You will love Ireland!
We rented a car, drove to Cliff of Moher in the morning, Galway the same day, where we spent the night.
It would be a pity not to see Northern Ireland. In a five day road trip we went to Cliff of Mohr, Galloway, Giant Causeway, Belfast, and back to Dublin.
We did it in December, and the weather was nicely cold and beautiful.

We'll, it's the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising, so it is not surprising that there are multiple tours on offer. It would be an interesting exercise for a travel writer to take several of them and compare.

November is too late in the year for the Skellig Islands . The boats do not land that late in the year.

For traditional music, instead of Ennis, try Doolin.
