Ireland in May

Flying into Dublin in May for a fast first time visit to Ireland. Staying in Wicklow/Blessington area. Need to rent a car that is an automatic.
1. Suggestions for renting a car for the week from Dublin Airport or a shuttle service to Wicklow/Blessington.
2.What should I expect as far as temperatures in early/mid May.
3. Must see things to see which would be considered a day trip from the Wicklow/Blessington area.
Thank you for any help you can give.

Just responding to your car rental question, we've rented from Dublin airport with Sixt before. Our trip was focused on the west coast, so not familiar with the area you are contemplating. However, I don't see any mainstream car rental agencies operating in those locations, so your choice of cars (and automatic availability) will be superior at Dublin airport.
