Ireland in July with kids
 

My family is going to Ireland for 12 days in July. I have 2 boys ages 8 and 11, who are not the greatest in sitting in the car. Anywyas, my mom is from Ireland so she wants to show the boys everything. Can anyone recommend a kid friendly attraction for the kids so they are not too bored with visiting family and shopping? Thanks

Still looking for interesting things for my kids. Also they are picky eaters, any suggestions for food? We will be in Limerick, Killarney,Dublin, Waterford, Cork, and Donegal. Any help would be nice.

Near Limerick, Bunratty castle & folk park is a must. It's rather "touristy" but there's lots to see & do there. I live about 80 miles away & we went there a few times when our kids were young.
Killarney is a great centre for hill-walking, to suit most ages

Fota Wildlife park near Cork was also a great favourite with ours. You park & walk around; the animals are in large enclosures, we would aim to arrive early & stay all day. There's also an arboretum next door, with some beautiful trees.
In Dublin I'm sure you'll find lots for them, the Dublinia exhibition might interest them (next to ChristChurch cathedral), a sort of history of Dublin.
If you're driving from Dublin You'll probably pass through (or near) Kildare, which has the Japanese gardens & National Stud museum, with beautiful racehorses.
Near Killarney & in Dublin you can ride a horse-pulled jaunty car. And of course there are some lovely beaches, especially in Donegal. I hope the sun shines 4U

Not sure if anyone can answer this but here goes. I recently remarried and have my 2 boys from my first marriage, my ex went with me to get the passports are the passports enough or do I need a letter from him as well when I get to Ireland?? This question has been asked of me and I am not sure of the answer. Can anyone help?
