Ireland in July....need your comments!
My husband and I, and another couple are going to Ireland from July 1 to the 13th. My husband and I have been 2 times before, but it is the first time in Ireland for the other couple. I’m thinking about this itinerary:
July 1 – 3; 3 nights in Dublin July 4 -5; 2 nights in Kilkenny July 6 – 7; 2 nights in Kinsale July 8 – 10; 3 nights in Dingle July 11-12; 2 nights in Galway Kilkenny, Dingle and Galway are new to us, and we have only stayed in Dublin the last night before our flight the next day. Is this itinerary too much? |
No, it's not too much: it's quite a nice pace.
Do not let anybody persuade you to add other destinations. As for people suggesting alternative destinations -- well, it's a matter of personal preference. |
You will love the west coast - Dingle is one of my favorites and Galway area is also wonderful. Have a great trip.

Thanks to both of you (Padraig & one2travel)....now it's off to finding accommodations.
We are thinking about: Dublin - Ivy Exchange Apartments Kilkenny - Carriglea Kinsale - Olde Bakery Dingle - Milestone House Galway/Oranmore - Oranhill Lodge Any comments on any of them? Thanks! |
I would consider Ivy Exchange Apartments to be in a marginal area, suitable only for the streetwise.
South of the Liffey is generally better. |
