For a starter (we've only been in March, April, July,& October):
Good deals on hotels. No crowds of tourists.
Short days. Many closed attractions. Many closed B&Bs.
What do you have in mind to do there?

You might go to the Trip Planner for Dublin on the Weather Underground website and make an enquiry regarding the date range you're contemplating. Look not only at the temperatures but also at the notations about rain.

I assume you are talking about December 2005 because it is now Dec. 24, 2004? Dingle will be very, very quiet around then. Galway, being a larger city would have more going on, more open and more shopping.

Sublin is VERY quiet after Christmas and many restaurants close for a few days. It's a quiet family time of year. I would opt for a pre-Christmas visit as its nice in the run up to Christmas and the city is decorated with lights and Christmas parties are in full swing.

I was thinking of traveling in early December hoping to enjoy pre-hoilday decorations, shopping and spirit. I was thinking about Dingle and Galway, but would appreciate suggestions from others of where to go. thanks!
