Probably should have explained original request more completely. Ten of us will be in Kenmare on Friday, July 9 as a part of our month long vacation from California. Three of my sons (30s, good looking, single, teachers) are going to Oxegen and will need to take the bus, train or any other available transportation. Are obviously willing to pay. Does anyone know about any groups getting up transportation or any shuttles or buses? They won't need rides back to the area as the rest of us go to Dublin on Saturday. Thanks!

Granted I don't know much about it since I haven't been there *yet* (hoping that volcano goes to sleep soon so disruptions won't carry on into summer!) but on the Oxegen site it looks like there are public transport options. I'll be relying on public transportation myself, at that point, so it's good to know.
Looks like there's a bus from Kenmare to Killarney then a train from Killarney to Dublin or one of the stations near Punchestown.
From the site:
Train services are also on offer to ensure festival goers get to and from Punchestown safely.
The nearest train stations is Sallins and Naas, while Dublin train stations are slightly further afield and can be connected to Punchestown via bus.
Full rail details are available on www.irishrail.ie

Actually, there IS a station in Kildare ...
I BELIEVE it is an option on the Tralee - Killarney - Mallow -- Dublin Heuston route ..?
If you pre-purchase your tickets online (as late as the night before), irish Rail has been offering 10 Euro one way tickets for off-peak travel times.
If the guys are planning to stay over in the area, it MAY already be too late to secure accommodations, though.

Thank heavens I tend to be a little compulsive. Booked all our accommodations last month. All self catering - 9 days at Sheen View in Kenmare, a week at St. Augustines in Dublin and two weeks at Shannon Oaks Lodges in Portumna. We'll do lots of day trips without having to pack and relocate a lot.

According to the Festival website:
"How do I get there? The best way to get to OXEGEN is via one of the many bus services available.
Dublin Bus
Dublin Bus will operate a shuttle service from Parnell Square West, Dublin 1 direct to the festival site. Return bus transfer will cost 20 Euros. Tickets available from Dublin Bus, 59 Upper O’Connell Street, Dublin 1, by calling Dublin Bus on (01) 873 4222, or at www.ticketmaster.ie
Bus Eireann
Bus Eireann will be running express services from destinations around the country - so no matter where you are you should be able to make your way to OXEGEN 2010!
Check www.buseireann.ie for details or phone +353 1836 6111."
