Irish eyes--you asked when what time of year we are going. Haven't decided for certain, but I think late summer/early fall (early to mid Sept). Late spring is also an option, but not as convenient for us.

I asked about time of year because if it is during the season you need to think about booking sooner rather than later. Tours that go in off season would be more likely to cancel because of lack of people signing up for them.

ps, you can get a 5-8% discount on CIE or other tour companies through online travel agencies, go to www.trafalgartours4less.com, they book all major tour companies, and www.pavlustravel.com. TT4less will beat Pavlus' prices.

A friend talked me into doing a Collette tour of Ireland a few years ago. Some of the hotels were not what they were supposed to be and some were great. The last one in Dublin was too far out to do anything although it was lovely. I liked them taking care of the luggage and driving (I would be too scared to drive those tiny lanes) but didn't like the planned meals and the endless waiting for people to get back on the bus. And the broad hints (demands really) for tips for the driver and tour guide. Never again.

Thanks, Sharon...That's one off the list!

And thanks, travelinwifey, for the discount site tip....
