Ireland: Cliffs of Moher - The Burren
Can anyone recommend a nice B&B for the area around the Cliffs of Moher and/or The Burren?

In 1998 I stayed at Sea View House in Doolin. Doolin is just a few minutes' drive from the visitor's center at the Cliffs. The house had just been built at the time and the owners were a lovely young couple who were very helpful about the best places to go in the Burren. The B&B is maybe a half a mile's walk from the rocky shore, and it's just across the road from O'Connor's Pub, which often has traditional music at night. Good luck planning your trip!

I've stayed at Fitzgerald's B&B in Miltown-Malbay. It's down the coast from Lahinch, less than 30-min drive from the Cliffs. Don't plan to stay there during July when Willie Clancy's Stepdancing Classes/Competitions at the Armada Hotel in nearby Spanish Point bring people from all over (incl. the U.S.). It's probably already fully booked.
It's on 'Irish Storefronts' posters: Curtin's Fine Meats; but it's not really a meat market anymore. |
We tried to get the Sea View House but they were full when we were to be in Doolin. As we drove past it on the way to our B&B we were sorry we were not staying there. The location is perfect and we sure enjoyed the pub across the street!

Thank you. We have just booked Seaview House.

Consider dinner at the Lazy Lobster, about 1/2 mile down the road. ((b))

Thanks. I have made a note of it. Lobsters are great food and if they are lazy, all the better.
