Ireland August, Too early to confirm hotels?

We are going 13- 22 August. Is it too early to confirm accomodation with my credit card or not? All places we have chosen have a 48 hour cancellation policy except, for Old Pres. in Kinsale need 1 week. Should I confirm or not . Budman, what do you think? Decided on Aranview in Doolin, Alpine house in Dingle, Murphys in Killarney, Old Pres. in Kinsale and Bunratty Woods in Bunratty. did not hear back from many places in Bunratty, so will wait on that for a while. Thanks.

I can't think of any reason not to confirm - and if you delay you risk losing your top choices.

DOCK, I am going in May. I booked the places where I know where I'm going to be. That's the first 5 days and the last night. I'm going to play the remainder by ear.

Since you are going in "prime time," and you know where you are going to be, I would book now, just to make sure you get the places you want.

I've booked Bunratty Lodge in Bunratty, but still waiting to hear back from Ashford House where we've stayed the last two times in Bunratty. They don't open until next month. I'm going to call or fax them next month if I still don't hear from them.

Book now. It is easy to cancel than it is to find something that does not exist.

Why would you wait?

Thanks for the advice, all booked except for Bunratty. Went to Ashford house website and will wait to book with them. Now on to the hunt for the cheapest car hire.

DOCK, check with Autoeurope. I found their rates for Ireland were the best. I had previously booked on my other trips with Dan Dooley, but this time, Autoeurope was the best price.

Book now as half or europe are on their holidays in August and tourism increases in August (high season). You may not get the places you want if you wait.
