ireland ATM question

i understand that there is a 200 euro limit per transaction but is there a limit to the number of transactions each day? is it possible to make several withdrawals in the space of a few minutes? many thanks

I believe that it depends on your own bank. They can (or can't ) limit the number of withdrawels and the amount per transaction.

So I would first start by aksing your own bank.

I agree. I think the limit comes from your own bank. If you're traveling with a spouse, you may be able to get around it by each making a withdrawal with your own card.

To answer your question " is it possible to make several withdrawals in the space of a few minutes? - normally, yes it is possible. Once in a while a specific machine doesn't allow that. If so, just step to the next machine and do another withdrawal.

(the total amount you withdraw is governed by your own bank - but the number/amount of individual withdrawals is determined by the machine)

Here in the Netherlands, banks also limit the number of withdrawals from ATMs other than your own banks to just one a day. This may also be the case with your bank - after all you will be using guest banks in Ireland. Talk to your bank and get them to raise your limit.
