Ireland apartment

I've read several positive reviews of the restaurant at The Oliver St. John Gogarty, but I'm wondering if anyone's ever stayed at the apartments they offer? I'm on the verge of making a booking but can't seem to find any objective reviews. Anyone that can help? Thanks!

I haven't personally stayed there, or don't know anyone that has. My only reservation would be the noise. It's right in the centre of Temple Bar (and over a busy pub) and it can be very noisy until the early hours.

Good call! I emailed them and inquired about the noise and they've responded that we'll be on the fifth floor and visiting on a Monday and Tuesday night, so it should be relatively quiet. Compared to a weekend, I suppose. Is the whole neighborhood wild? I'm traveling with my grandmother, so I'm hoping to keep it relatively calm as much as I can.

What time of year are you going? In the summer months it can be busy even on 'off' nights and there is often live music in that pub. Temple Bar is not somewhere I'd really bring my grandmother.

Temple Bar is busy every night of the week but Monday and Tuesday should be the quietest of all. It's not somewhere I'd bring a grandmother though - even on the 5th floor I'd imagine it could be loud. I think SiobhanP has previously recommended some other apartments. If you can find a post of hers, click on her name and you might be able to find them.

Cailin is right it still could be loud. I remember years ago they had penthouse apts is this what you are looking at? There is also a hostel next door. Maybe with a grandma it might be too loud. There are several apt lets in the city. One is called http://staydublin.com/ I would avoid Capel street as its tooo empty at night and can border a less desirable area for tourists. Millenium way would be a good spot. Christchurch may be ok too.

Also the restaurant is fine if not a bit touristy but can be fun. I have taken visitors here for a work dinner a few years back and they enjoyed it and then went for drinks and music on the first floor after. I also think ther are other nice places to eat.
