Ireland
Hello,
My husband and I are planning our first trip to Ireland. We plan to stay 6 nights. Any suggestions. |
No one can really help you w/o a bit more info (a LOT more, really)
When? Where are you flying in/out of? Do you plan on renting a car? Why did you pick Ireland/are there specific places you want to see? What sorts of things do you enjoy? Give us something to work w/ and we can help . . . |
I like to start my trip planning with the purchase of a good guidebook and do some internet research on my own first.

Honestly, you should visit http://www.irelandyes.com/. Michele has helped with with two of my trips and I'm now on to my third and (again) getting much help from her and her site!

Suggest combining a few days in Dublin and then heading out of the city and not trying to pack in too much. Wicklow and Wexford south of Dublin are beautiful and Galway and Connemara are also very pretty and less than 3 hours west of Dublin and a total change -Just dont try and pack too much in!

A good suggestion would be first, get a good guidebook. Check them out at the bookstore to see which appeals to you. I think Eyewitness is a good one. Then get a map of Ireland and lay it out. Go through the travel guide and pick the things that interest you. Then mark them on the map. You might color code them as to "must see: down to "just interesting if its nearby". Then when you have completed that, take a look at your map and see where most of your must see's are located. Then you can plan your route. You will probably have to make decisions on what "must sees" will be eliminated. And,remember, you will only get about 35 miles per hour while traveling from place to place plus add time for stopping for pictures or unscheduled visits to places that look interesting.
Have fun....planning is part of the enjoyment! |
