My wife and I are flying into Dublin Ireland Sunday September 10, 2017 and flying out Saturday September 23. We have no plans made yet but we are committed to renting homes on Home Away.Many of of the homes have a minimum stay and we are looking at renting 3 homes in different parts of Ireland. We will have a car at sometime but not sure when. If we start our trip in Dublin it looks like I might not need a car for that part of the trip. Any suggestions on a itinerary and must see stuff?

There seems to be an epidemic of posts like "We are going to xyz country. Where should we go and what should we see?"

You picked Ireland, so you must already have some ideas (other than Dublin) -- right? So lay out your basic ideas and at least a general plan/itinerary and we can help make adjustments/improvements. We can't really design a trip for you.

So give us some help here . . .

Ok, let me try it this way. We are looking to stay 5 days in Dublin, then 2 days in Northern Ireland and a week some place in the southwestern part of Ireland. Does this time allocation make sense? Do I need a car while I am in Dublin since parking seems to be an issue?

Hello, You don't need a car in Dublin nor in Belfast. Public Transportation is great in both places. McCombs have great day tours of the coast and do a small bus tour of the Game of thrones filming locations. Premier Inn Belfast City Centre is a good hotel for two nights.

Most everything else I have rented is for four or more but like the Cows lane area and this apartment building was nice with the Queen of Tarts outside your door. Very secure also.

Islanddad, Ask Mary if she has her one bedroom available, not that much difference in price, this is across from Dublin castle so not in the middle of Temple Bar.

Great guy that owns this and love this area for transportation and there is a fresh foods and nice restaurants close by.

Land Dublin get the bus to Belfast. Take a tour bus or I know a lad up there that will a custom tour for a couple of hundred quid one day see the city the other, drop to Dublin airport, rent a car go to wherever, return to Dublin airport, drop the car and have your Dublin time
