A little late to jump in on this - - and I realize that you are excited with your departure looming so close now...
...but to any other newbies reading this thread... please don't use a message header like this! Imagine if everyone did it: 1. To ira 2. To PalenQ 3. To Robespierre 4. To gina 5. To georgebush The forum is highly dependent on the message header of each posting making some sense, and conveying something about the subject of the info sought/offered. It would have been far preferable to have used a header like "Seeking final itinerary advice for Austria and Munich (help from ira and others especially wanted)"... Have a great trip, all the same... Best wishes, Rex |
Bratislava can easily be visited as a daytrip from Vienna, and that is what we did. It takes just about an hour by train and is worthwhile of a visit/I honestly don't know what one would do with 3 nights but to each their own.
I also highly suggest Melk or Durnstein. The Wachau Valley (where these towns are located) is lovely and very easy to access from Vienna and is on the way to Salzburg. And we enjoyed Regensburg very much. Another great option is Cesky Krumlov, a small town in Czech near the Austrian border. In any event, I'm sure you will have a wonderful time! Tracy |
