Well we had planned to go to La Tagilata in the town of Monterpertuso (just above Positano) when we were there a couple months ago but a few things got in the way. Unfortunately we never made it there but it is supposed to be fabulous. The town of Montepertuso also has a couple of other renowned restaurants including one called Il Ritrovo (sp?).
If you search Montepertuso on the boards the names and phone numbers of the restaurants should come up along with several detailed reviews. I believe all of the restaurants will send cars to pick you up from your hotel in Positano and then return you. We liked Da Costantino in Positano for traditional Italian pizza. It isn't an expensive restaurant at all but the food was amazing and the views... just stunning. Lots of ambience. They will pick you up in their van (don't worry, it's a nice van) and return you after your meal. Tipping my hat to ira's suggestion, we will likely stay at Le Sirene in Praiano when we return to southern Italy in 2007. It sounds **very** quiet and removed from the hustle and bustle that is almost omnipresent elsewhere on the Amalfi Coast |
