iPhone problem in Florence.

Hello,

My iPhone will not pick up a carrier in Florence, I have been here for 24 hours and I can't get it to work. I tried doing a hard shut down, no luck. Anybody else having this problem with their iPhone. It worked the last time I was here.

Please help and thank you.

Did it work anywhere else in Italy? Did you just get there? Pardon me for asking what I am sure you will think is a stupid question but is it in airplane mode? Assume you aren't using it to access this site.

Is your SIM card enabled for roaming? If you got your iPhone recently, then you often have to tell your network provider for roaming before going abroad.

Hi Dukey1 and Alec

No it is not in the airplane mode. It worked without any problems last January in Florence. I had the same problem in Japan but after a few hours of being in Japan, it picked up a carrier.

I updated my phone before I left now I am wondering if that is the caused of my problem. Sigh.

Thank you dukey1 and Alec.

I was in Florence a few weeks ago and could rarely get a signal unless I was in a wifi spot. It worked perfectly fine in the other places I visited. I assumed it was related to my carrier (AT&T).
