Intra Europe airfare in and out of Dubrovnik

My family of four will be traveling to Croatia this August. We will be arriving in Dubrovnik from Paris and departing from Dubrovnik to Barcelona. Currently the best non-stop fare I have found Paris-Dubrovnik is $158 on EasyJet. The best fare Dubrovnik to Barcelona is $103 on Norwegian Air.

Are these reasonable prices for August or is it likely they could go down between now and August?

Thank you

Those are probably rock-bottom prices for August from Dubrovnik - a huge holiday place for northern Europeans - especially the Dubrovnik to Barcelona fare is one I would hop on. EasyJet maybe not - check www.skyscanner.com and www.whichbudget.com for other companies flying that route. EasyJet is usually as cheap as any - check for the bottom line - all the costs - for luggage, even reserved seats, etc. If the Paris-Dubrovnik flight leaves from Beauvais then it will cost you $20 or so each way on the Easy Bus from or to Paris.

I can't answer your question, but am curious about why you would fly into AND out of Dubrovnik? Unless you plan to spend ALL of your time there, you would have to backtrack -- and spend money to do so. You might want to explore options for flying into and out of different cities (e.g., Split or Zagreb, depending on your plans). Just a thought!

Those are good fares. I fly from Dubrovnik to Barcelona (or vice versa) almost every year and usually pay more, and not even in high season. I fly on Vueling.

Thanks very much for the replies! We only have 5 days (3 full days) in Croatia so I figured we'd stay in Dubrovnik the entire time. Maybe that's too much time in one spot?

Trust me, those fares on those so-called "discount" carriers are going to do one thing: increase as you get closer to the travel dates. The airline websites will tell you that.

Paris-Beauvais is a horrendously inconvenient airport. It might be better to pay a bit more to fly from CDG. But your combination of Paris, Dubrovnik, and Barcelona isn't going to be cheap regardless of how you look at it, and you'll waste a lot of time traveling.

But with only 3 days, I'd base myself in Dubrovnik. You can make a day-trip if you don't find enough to do there. You can easily get to Lokrum, Mljet, or even Korcula and back in a day, though Korcula is a longish trip.

With only 3 days in Croatia, Dubrovnik makes sense -- if you are willing to spend so much of your time and money traveling there and back, when there are SOooo many other places you might want to visit between Paris and Barcelona, rather than going so far out of your way.

Dubrovnik itself is very small and can -- depending on your interests -- be seen in just a day or a bit more, so (as Doug notes), you might want to try to visit something nearby -- even though that means spending even MORE time traveling and even LESS time seeing / experiencing than your plan already affords.

Good luck!

Book the flights now, the fares are as low as they will be.
