Hi Is it very easy to locate places in London to download your digtal pix onto CDs? DH & I are very techno-phobic, and don't want to be at the mercy of our teenager while we travel! Thanks

To transfer digital film to CDs doesn't require a cafe. Any camera store will do it. But be sure the CDs are readable (preferably on a different computer) before you erase your memory.

<i>p.s.</i> $50 will buy a gigabyte of picture memory nowadays.

Memory sticks are so cheap, it hardly makes sense to pay someone to transfer your image files to CDs. A 1gb memory will hold about 1,300 3 megapixel images.

But not all digital cameras can use a 1 GB memorystick/film card.

I think this should be sufficiently self-evident as to not require explanation, but here goes:

One gigabyte of memory is either one or two or four or eight or sixteen chips (or even more) depending on the size you buy.

But one gigabyte of memory, no matter how many pieces it's in, will hold 1,300 3mp images.

As larger chips are offered, $/mb prices of the smaller ones tend to drift downwards. So four 256mb chips might well be cheaper than a single 1gb one. Watch ecost.com
