Internet accessibility in Scotland

After searching the forum, I did not find any recent topics on internet accessibility in Scotland. I'm sure Edinburgh won't be a problem, but what about more remote areas, like Glencoe, Isle of Skye, Braemar?

Guess it may help locals to respond if you say whether you mean 3G or wifi.

I didn't have any problems finding B&Bs that had wifi when we were in Scotland in 2009. I used it at night, so I didn't notice what was available otherwise in coffee shops and internet cafes.

3g can be patchy outside cities and towns but wifi is available almost everywhere in hotels b&b's, bars, coffee shops and many other places besides.

The following link gives a better idea of coverage.

Sorry Cowboy 1968 - I meant wi-fi. Trying not to make calls, but do want to check email & texts.

Weegie - thanks for the link!

We were in Scotland in June...we didn't have wifi access in Glencoe or Isle of Skye but we did in Braemar, Nairn, Blairs (off and on). No Blackberry access at all. Enjoy your trip...take a good camera. The scenery is spectacular.

Thanks Jim & Becky!
