International Northwest 200

We are traveling in Ireland in May. WE thought we might go north of Dublin first but now I have discovered that the International Northwest 200 will take place in the north from May 10-17. Sounds like maybe this is a big event and of course would make accommodations tight, more traffic etc. If so, possibly it is best for us to travel south first. Does anyone know anything about this event and what impact it does have on Portrush, Derry, and other towns in Northern Ireland.

We would love to see that, how lucky for you! Have you tried booking a room in Portrush for any of those dates? That would be the first suggestion. You could never get a room during the TT races in Isle of Man but this might not be as hard to find accommodations.

We are not interested in the races so actually want to avoid the area then.
