I don't know why but this thread has become very wide when it appears on my computer screen and it was hard to find the reply box.....

When using riiing it depends where you are that determine the rate. So if you are in Europe and somebody calls you from the United States, you do not pay to receive the call. The caller pays a supplement which is the way mobiles work in Europe. Surcharges for calls to Liechtenstein vary very very very widely depending on your ld carrier.

For outgoing, you again pay based on where you are not where you are calling. So if you call the USA on riiing and you are in zone 1 (their zone 1) you pay the €0,39/minute with a €0,25 set up fee for call. Bear in mind this is timed to the minute so if you speak for 61 seconds, you pay €1,03 for the call...if you call from the USA you pay whatever their zone 7 charge is no matter where you are calling.

Ah but if you use a callback service..Hope that clarifies and why has this thread's appearance become so distorted on the computer screen?

If you have a very long URL to post, use makeashorterlink.com to shorten it.

If you have an eBay auction to post, just give the item number: 5765434055

By the way, the auction cited above doesn't appear to be a SIM as the listing indicates, but rather a top-up card.

A SIM would be like 6383894310.

Robespierre...

I respectfully disagree with you. I looked at the web site again and the link cleary indicates it is for the riiing sim...the picture in the upper left hand corner is that of the recharge cards..

You don't have to go to ebay to get the recharge cards; you can do that directly on www.riiing.com...simply enter the payment information (credit card) and they will e mail you the code to put into your phone to re-charge. That is unless you see something I don't see.

callbackworld and enlinea have been working well most of the time in Europe, however, t think you will need to be on a fully digital network, which doesnt seem to be a problem in western Europe. I have been to Mexico last month and it was absolutely impossible to use either enlinea or callbackworld. I did recieve the callback but my following input wasnt recognized at all. I have never experienced such a problem in Europe, seemed the "beeps" simply didnt go thru to the switch...

I had that problem last January while I was in Paris with callbackworld.....

That's what I get for just looking at pictures...

I have been checking out this forum avidly for weeks in preparation for our family's trip to Italy. All my questions have been answered until now.My husband and I are "cell phone dependant" so I bought two triband unlocked cell phones on ebay, then, two Italian Sim cards. I want to do as much as possible before we get to Italy. The Sim cards are not yet registered. The vendor offered to do this for us but we did not want to send copies of our passport and personal information by fax or email! I did go to the prepaidsim.net site and obtained codice fiscale numbers for each of us. Now what do I do to register the phones? Do I need to go to a TIM store when we get to Florence? Can I do anything to get registered before we leave?

I so appreciate this forum - it has given me so much information and entertainment!
