Interesting stops on drive from Brugge to Cochem?

Any suggestions for stops along the route from Brugge to Cochem?

I'm looking at the map and it looks like you could drive east to Koeln (Cologne) to see the cathedral, then south to Koblenz and then to Cochem along the river; or you could drive to Trier (which is worth a visit) and then northeast to Cochem -- also along the Mosel; Luxembourg City is also supposed to be worth a visit (I've only passed through).
I love the planning part of a trip! :)

Glad to be of help! Are you planning to bike along the Mosel? You can rent a bike in Cochem and bike to Burg Eltz -- well, bike and then walk through the woods. We stayed in Treis-Karden, rented a bike, rode north to Moselkern and then to Burg Eltz one day; south thru Cochem and to Beilstein another day. Easy and scenic riding.

Sounds marvellous! I just booked the Alte Thorschenke for 3 nights for 95 Euros including breakfast and parking for 5 Euros. Good reviews on this board and tripadvisor.
